Italian Restaurant - Saizeriya Review (Toa Payoh)

It's a dine out place where you can get affordable, reasonable portion italian dishes that taste pretty awesome. Their mains can start with a min. cost of $5 and above. So it's really cheap. There's no service charge and prices are inclusive of GST. They have got a few branch at various location. Been to all except Bukit Timah Plaza.

Over the weekend, my family and I decided to head to the Toa Payoh Branch and have our late dinner.
We've ordered 5 mains, 2 veg dishes, an escargot, chicken wings, 2 desserts and 4 free flow drinks at a price of $2.80

The Tuna Arrabiata Penne tasted alil like sardine but it's quite nice. Took a small bite out of it and was quite surprised that it didn't taste like how I imagine it to be.

Magherita Pizza was good! Described to have milk aroma and the cheese was plentiful! Dough wasn't thick thick which was good - can't take super thick crust. Will like to try this again!

You must be wondering what this is. Basically chicken with baked rice and sauce. The father practically finish this in the speed of light and was praising how delicious this was. Tried and yes, it really whets the appetite.

The risotto was /w mushroom and bacon was good. Lots of mushroom and bacon and it isn't too creamy. Don't usually take cream based pasta not whatever that cream goes with so this is really worth the try since, being the 'golden mouth' that I am, I've alrdy had this dish thrice! the carbonara was a tad disappointing, according to the boyf.

Escargot, I didn't try. Im too scared to try :/  They've added lots of herb and whatever else there is. Probably to musk the snail-y taste? I don't know. But my bro said it was nice and everyone except me had a go at it. They used to have baked cheese scallops which was delish! - Yea, keyword, used to. They took it off the menu. Whyyyyy!

On to the spinanch with mushroom and chilli padi and chicken wings. I have nothing to say, JUST ORDER!

There was this new side dish which we decided to try. When it came, my mother was like 0.0?! The portion was way smaller than the spinanch and it frankly didn't taste woah! Note, it is served cold- cold.

As for desserts, they have quite a selection and we choose this two. The Panna Cotta which was a little harder than pudding but it taste awesome! With the caramel sauce. Definitely for the sweet-tooth. While the Tiramisu was served alil too cold but the spoon could still slice thru the cake, no worries. Rum wasn't overwhelming and the cake was moist enough. I like moist tiramisu!

So, that's about it. Bill came up to about $70++ for 5 pax. Per pax is about $14++ which is reasonable since we all had a mains and lots of other dishes to share from.

Would recommend to head down to Liang Court or City Square Mall rather than Tao Payoh. Service is better and more consistent in comparison.

Happy week ahead! It's only 4 working days this week :D
