25 Years and counting

Good morning!
On Friday, was the boy's birthday so i made his requested bday cake, mocha cake w crushed almonds (there's rum extract in the cake). With the coffee buttercream. Yes, i have not mastered the art yet.

After putting the chocolate frosting and roasted almond nuts, final product.

The buttercream in the cake has super fine crushed almond bits as well. Thought it will give a different texture to it.

Side note: Hoping to perfect the cake even more.

Last night, I finally had my virgin try on sheesha at Nabins, Arab St.

It was only towards the end, that i got the hang of it because i don't smoke and has never fail to start coughing madly when i try to take a puff. Anyway, we got the Grape Flavour (didn't taste like grapes to me in any sense) and sat there for close to 4 hrs? Couldn't finish the entire 'bottle'. And so, it seems that sheesha / shisha is pretty harmful, in fact, more harmful than smoking cigarette itself :/  So please, do it in moderation. And no, I'm not addicted, yet. HAHAHA. Would love to try the other flavours some day.

Nabins has really good layouts indoors, but sheesha wasn't allowed, so we were given seats outside where they had this big screen for entertainment. We watched Superman and The Incredible Tales on 5. Bascially outside was filled with people chilling and sheesha-ing. Oh, and there was a belly dancer too whom i thought did pretty well, though it seems that the dance move were mediocre. Their indoor layout is definitely suitable for big groups and chillouts where you can dine and 'lepak' on the sofa bed. The whole area is carpeted and they have second level as well. Go check it out if you ever step foot into arab st! It was definitely a fun experience for me (:
