Caught we bought a zoo before dinner. It was ok, bits of laughter here and there, crying scenes were not forgotten. Pretty good to capture various themes in life.

Spent the eve with the family and grandma at the Singapore flyer. This time round, pictures doesn't seem to be as good as the previous time. Probably because of the weather, raining you see.

Definitely was a good family time together.

As for xmas, all i can say is, jinxed up, as usual. Satan will always make things hard for you when you look forward to something. Oh wells, world peace.

Just had our cell group dinner and xmas exchange at paulaner. Awesome time. Plenty of laughter and i really enjoyed myself!

Got pretty good awesome gift which im really touched to even received. Thanks to all cell grp mates and specifically yp cause she got me a baby g watch, in yellow.

My first baby g watch which I've long for since pri sch. How great is that?
Can't wait for countdown grp outing which is next sat!

Side note, i feel bad that i didn't get something small for everyone. Jerk!

what a week.

Hello earthlings!

This week has been great! Celebrated my bday with the bf and a closed friend who took off just for the trip to uss! Totally enjoyed myself.

And today, im going on a day trip to jb! Couldn't sleep the whole night and woke up at 340am. Now im out of the house, on the way to meet my friends. Can't wait for the massage/shopping/lobster dinner.

finally.

Been to universal studio Singapore a day before my birthday.

Such an awesome experience that I'll never ever forget in my life. From the minute i took the first picture at sentosa till the very end, i enjoyed to the max.

Am truly a princess today because both of them were really very accommodating and nice to me. Getting me things that i wanted and taking rides those insane looking rides.

confused?

My shoulders are feeling very heavy. Maybe i should not, like ny friend advised, carry the whole world's burden. But how not to when you know somehow it implicate with you and your future life? People then say that we should not be bothered with the future since it hasn't happen. Then, so such for long term planning?

Im just a ordinary student, who happens to be also a daughter to a family, learning how to cope with responsibilities.

How can i be a better daughter and student at the same time?

What a wonderful sunny morning!

Had breakfast w e family and guess what i came across?
(1) coffee bao

Its basically coffee favoured skin w red bean filling. Very interesting combination and it taste really good. Very bite is coffee and red bean flavour. Bitter sweet (:

(2) yellow rambutan.

The usual ones we see in the wet market are the red ones but hey! Found this yellow skin w green hairs rambutan at a certain part of sg. How cool is that?! Can't wait to try it when i get home (:

Despite having such a cold weather, i went to the provision shop downstairs and got this:

Have you tried this when you were young? Its paddle pop rainbow ice cream. I remember, when i was way younger, i used to have this almost every week after school.

It's a creamy milky ice cream that's made up of different colour. Isn't it awesome to have rainbow inside you? Makes you a happy kid, no?

Isn't it?

It was my good friend's bday last Friday and i only had the time now to bake something easy and fast w a handmade card. What a friend?!

Then again, its the thought that counts no? Though we hardly meet up ever since she stop sch, but i made an effort to whip up something. Ok, im just self consoling.

People out there, friends that you should treasure are those that keeps you in the heart and mind even if you don't meet up frequently. As long as when you need them, and they are there, that person is a worthy friend of yours.

waffle night

Since the bf returned, been hanging out with the group and by did i have an awesome weekend. How was yours?

Went down to watch the annual Singapore river regatta and had dinner at Swensens, marinar sq. Chatting and laughing over everything. Then, we decided to head over to pan pac hotel to check out reservations for the new year which we doubt we'll be able to get a room since it's alrdy so late.

Headed to Udders at novena. Waffle night begin..

Spent $16.20 on 4 flavours and a waffle. But it was good. Udders always have very flavourful ice cream.

happiness

Attended a friend's wedding last night at carlton's hotel. I was really so happy for both the bride and the groom since they were my team mates, or should i say ex team mates?

Bride was so pretty that she's glowing inside out and the groom had the brightest smile ever, for a day he wasn't Mr grouchy.

Ystd was really an awesome day not just because of the wedding but also, i managed to dip into e pool and got to know a friend even more. Or so to me, i felt that i understand that individual more. I like the feeling where you get a step closer to knowing and understanding a friend. Feels good and makes you a happy person. (:

Side note, bf has returned from the world of kangaroo. Really glad he's back because i do miss his company but I've also gained something, unreliance. This means, im a step closer to being independent.

food snap

Been quite frequent to the Giant outlet at tampines with the family. And i found this delicious dish, dumping noodles dry at the cost of only $4.50.

Noodles are handmade, or so they say and the 5 dumplings are huge. After eating that plate of noodles, you can spend your time in giant, walking away the fullness. Hah!

family time

This is what i had over the weekend with the family while the bf is stuck in another region.

this is the chicken claypot. Really unique flavour of the sauce. Second claypot was prawns in achak! Huge fresh prawns.

Oh there are other small dishes which you can add on (additional cost) as well, like veg, meatballs, tofu, eggs etc. Price vary from $1.50 - $3.50.

My family chose family set which consist of two large claypots and four rice. - $43.30

Lots of family in the outlets located in the east and north east, there goes to say, chicken pot is the next steamboat where family spent time having a great time together while eating.

La Petite Cuisine

Hi there


This is a VERY late post on the french cuisine which i've tried 2 fridays back.
This stall is located at the building beside Cluny Court - Botanic Gardens Station, directly opposite Adam rd hawker centre. It's a small stall that is managed by a french (i suppose?) chef and a few pino staffs. I must say, the food was fabulous/delicious/mouth-watering/orgasmic/finger licking good.


They do not charge GST nor service charge which is very unslightly, nowadays. But whether the prices are reasonable, I'm not sure because this is my virgin try for french food. Of course, this stall serves quality and not quantity food, very different from the usual chinese stalls that we, asians, often dine at.

This is Ravioli of prawns & foie gras in Light Lemon Creme, $15

Small portion of foie gras in each ravioli which was a good chance for virgin tryouts of what foie gras taste like. Love the sauce, nearly lick the plate clean (:

Main Course (special): Marget de Canard (ie Duck breast) w thyme + salad and gratin, $46 for 2.
Tender meat, tasty sauce which doesn't overpower the sweetness of the duck meat. Love how the gratin is soft yet firm.

I was enjoying the whole experience from the moment i sat down and waited for each dish to arrive. It was a whole different experience to me. Totally in love with this place and am hoping to be able to head back soon and try the other dishes available.

Body Massage @ jean yip loft

Went for a 45min body massage trial at the jean yip loft in beweeten chinatown and outram.

Super duper good! Love it.
Here are some pictures of the place, stylish environment with nice ambience.
After massage, it is refreshment time. Ginger tea and sweet potato soup. They have a total of 7 storey of which the last is an open area of jaccuzzi and a pool! They have a level for hair care, ladies mani and pedi, facial and body massage.

It's a good place to pamper yourself as it acts as a one stop centre to ladies and men (:

Would really love to be their member soon, when i can afford the increase expenses.

This were the dishes i had for dinner with the family at pasir panjang's food centre.

- served by kee meng seafood fishhead steamboat.

Stall is brightly lit and has the space of 2 units. Easily spotted in the night! (: They serve really good cheap food but the trade off is waiting time. Take for today as eg., we waited abt an hr cause there were so many pple!

Their 'must try' is the la-la cooked with pepper and dried shrimps and deep fried pork belly in garlic cloves. Note that this stall serves dishes that are alil different from the usual zi char.

Hi there.

I would like to share a bad experience i had on thurs, at chinatown point's swensens.

Bf and i went for the one-for-one lunch deal and i didn't expect such a dish can be served. I had upset stomach and was running to the toilet every 30mins.

This was what i ordered..
Pesto salmon, $15.90

As shown, the salmon meat was dry instead of juicy moist. Totally not fresh! The vegetables were gross cause there were black colouration. Totally lost my appetite gradually as i picked on my lunch.

I've had better swensens experience at tampines, marinara sq etc. but this was really a shock because there's no consistency in food served at different outlet. Really quite a disappointment. Hope swensens will monitor and control their consistency level.

salted caramel.

Since e bf is in camp tonight, decided to have dinner with a friend at thomson's prata house, followed by ice cream @ salted caramel.

Salted caramel ia a fairly new ice cream place which sells ice cream in scoops, waffles and other desserts like brownie and cakes. They too also have tea and coffee.

Basically, their ice cream flavors are limited but i love their holick and Tim tam and earl grey. They've got avacado, stout & chocolate, kahlua etc. So it's worth a try when you're around the vicinity. They're pretty packed after 9pm on the weekends so go early if you have a big grp! (:

TGIF

This week, i went for a swim and baked a new recipe for muffins, lychee. There's a picture of it.

Even though i pat dry the lychees , the center of the muffin was still a lil moist dued to the juicy lychee flesh. But i found it ok cause i done usually like dry muffins.

Last night, was the usual meet up with the gang at raffles shopping centre, ding tai fung. Finally got to try their mushroom minced meat noodles and their new creation - yuan yang xlb (red bean and yam). Simply wonderful..

Love having good food with my bunch of awesome friends. L.i.f.e.

Good Saturday

Hi there.

Hope you, like me, had an awesome  saturday.
Went to had Dim Sum at Chinatown, Smith Street for brunch with the bf. Been patronizing this dim sum stall for awhile and the food they serve are really good and delicious, at a reasonable price. Shall not write too much and let the pictures do the talking instead..

Siew Mai which didn't had a porky taste to it. Totally awesome.

Har Gao, huge chunk of prawn and the skin is so soft and chewy.

After this heavy brunch, we walked around Chinatown for some sightseeing and oh my god, I felt like a tourist. HAHA. Kept taking photos of things which i found interesting or cute. These are some of my favourite pictures.

Baked these today. This is my second attempt and i must say, it's alot better and everything was done within 15mins, excluding the baking time interval time of 20mins at 170deg.

Thank god that someone invented mixer.

My good friend is leaving for Liverpool to further her studies.

Mixed emotions that night when i sent her off. Cried a lil, probably because i saw a heart warming scene, and was being plain emotional. I'm sad.

Then again, being at e airport, i saw many friends and one of them was shaf! Oh boy, really glad to receive hugs from him and though it was just a few sentences of catching up, it felt really great!

This is just another phase of life that we're all facing right? Departure and new faces in our lives.

Been catching up with my friend who is gonna leave for further studies tmr. Had a great day out with her. Caught Johnny English which was really good and enjoyable.

Ystd, was 'cell grp' at Timbre! Wonderful night with great music and food. Had 2 cups jaggerbomb and 1 vagina sakura which tasted really refreshing and nice. Photos will upload again in e next post.

Just came back from another mini 'cell grp' at salted caramel - ice cream shop. I am really very fortunate to have a wonderful bf, who tolerates my nonsense, and a bunch of awesome friends who makes me realised what kind of a person am i. Good or bad, i love them still and i hope they too love me.

Had macs breakfast followed by shopping in town, at H&M.

There was sucha crowd in the ladies section, especially the fitting room. Tried out a few pieces of basics and got them at a cheap price. - 2 tops and 2 skirts

oh not to forget that their return policy is as long as 30 days. How good is that?! Imma happy girl! (:
