Boon Tong Kee Review (Whampoa West)

Hi there! Hope you had a jolly celebration for christmas and the upcoming New Year's eve!
I'm back for an update on BTK! It's my virgin try so i was really excited because 1)bf was treating the family 2) it's food - who doesn't love food?

Here's a picture of the hanging boiled cheekans. Looking delicious!

Here's what we ordered:
$13 boiled chicken which is probably half a chicken? Definitely enough for 5pax. We all prefer the chicken rice stall at Chinatown! BTK's is less juicy and tender.

$10 Claypot Liver
Soooooo good, i tell you! The liver was fresh and it came in huge thinly sliced pieces. There's something about the sauce that made this dish so delish!

$8 (i think) Mei Cai with Brasied Pork Belly
the veg was stewed to perfect softness and of course, the pork belly had melt in your mouth fats! (:
Very suitable for parents!

I can't remember how much this cost, but this is Spinach with trio eggs.
Not bad, nothing much to rave about. This dish was pretty neglected when the other food arrived. Haha!

Fried Crispy Tofu, price (forgot)! Please order this.
It is da boom! It was executed well and the taste is good enough on its own though, they provided mayo by the side.

Look at how silky tionk-tionk the tofu was! I had like 4 cubes of this!

Last order was the Cereal Prawn.
$30 for 5 pcs which i felt was alil expensive! They charge by weigh.
Nevertheless, the cereal was OMG! I kept having mouthful of it with rice.
Very fragrant and tasty.

Together with 6 bowls of rice, 4 teas and 1 sugarcane water chestnut drink, the bill came up to $115.
Service was good though we waited for about 20 - 30mins before getting a table,  I was standing by the open concept kitchen, watching the shifu cutting up chickens! So it didn't feel like a long wait.
Seats are pretty limited so be there early if possible and they only take reservations for 10pax and above.

I Miss Taiwan

Hey you! It's another week of test and assignment hence the hiatus. Sorry! Anway, I will try to blog about the trip to Taiwan (I miss that place, alot) but let me first show you some of the OOTD pictures when I was there.

Heads up first, though it rained everyday, it didn't stop us from travelling around and the cold was bearable. Probably cause I had some 'training' on tolerating the cold before I left for Taiwan (:

28Nov, was the night we flew off via Scoot at 1255 -Midnight flight.

I wore: white Cotton on spaghetti underneath, a sheer white top and cotton on's leggings. Note that CO stuff are really thin! I had a black zara cardigan on and a Harry potter gryffindor scarf, on flight.

The boyf wore: Fred Perry long sleeves, CO's cargo pants and brought along a NUM jacket which he didn't use until we reahed Taipei 101.

Thats us at Taipei 101. We were pretty tired by this time, around 12pm.

29 Nov, was the 2nd day there. Headed to Jinguashi, Jiufen and Shifen.
I wore:  OSF kitten pullover with Uniqlo's heat-tech long sleeve underneath. Leather shorts with leggings
The boyf wore: Cotton On checkered long sleeves and jeans

30Nov: Shopping at Zhong Xiao Fuxing SOGO instead of the planned Yehliu Gepark cause it was pouring pretty heavily. Xinbeitou for hotspring and Shilin Nightmarket

I wore: Uniqlo's heat-tech underneath, thin girl top, floral shorts from JB, H&M leggings and Fred Perry shoes.

1 Dec: Taipei Zoo
I wore: Promod leather jacket, aztec bodycon dress, H&M Leggings, boots.

2 Dec: Last day, at TY Airport.

I wore: Cotton on floral romper, H&M Leggings, promod leather jacket
The boyf wore: Fred Perry checkered short sleeve and Jeans

I'll be back for a more detailed post on the trip! Gonna do up my assignment now!
Oh, and don't you feel all lazy and jolly because Christmas is coming?! (:
